Greet One Another

10-02-romans-16-3-16 How important are greetings?  I think Paul would say they are very important as they demonstrate the kind of relationship we have in the body of Christ.  A body that is in unity will show an affection in how they greet each other.  Paul adds that we should greet one another with a holy kiss.  Take something ordinary and make it extraordinary, God centered.  It should be sincere, sensitive, and sacred.  How we greet each other is a strong testimony to the outside world of our relationship with Christ evidenced in those greetings.  In what ever way we greet each other it should be personal and pure.

Commit to One Another

09-25-I-John-3-16-18 The degree to which we love someone is the degree to which we will be committed to that person.  How do we show commitment to one another?  I think it’s how we live out daily these one another principles we have been discussing in this series.  Jesus gives us a great example in the level of commitment He has toward us.  What is love (what is commitment)?  He laid down His life for us.

Pray for One Another

09-18-James-5-13-18 Prayer is a powerful tool.  In our one another admonition we are commanded to pray for one another, and to pray continuously.  While there are any number of things that we can bring before the throne of God in prayer, we touch on six specific ways to pray for the spiritual well-being of other believers.  So what are you waiting for, start praying – others need you.

Don’t Grumble Against One Another

09-11-james-5-7-9 Don’t grumble against one another.  What a challenging admonition.  We all feel taken advantage of from time to time.  It can even be exploitation, yet we are admonished to not grumble against one another.  James encourages us by noting that we should be patient and stand strong/firm in such difficult circumstances because the Lord’s return is near.  The encouragement is not only in His return but in the judgment He will bring against those who exploit others for their own personal gain.  Hang in there and don’t grumble, because if we too grumble we also will be judged.

Consider One Another

09 04 Hebrews 10.24-25 The authors admonition is to give careful consideration to each other regarding attitudes, actions, and attendance.  The latter is more than just mere presence in gathering regularly for worship, it has the idea of being concerned for the spiritual well-being of each other.  When someone starts to slip away from their love for the Lord, we are to encourage them in their faith.

Live in Peace With One Another

08 28 I Thessalonians 5.12-13 This one another passage gives a command to be at peace with each other.  That sounds great, but with wars being waged all over the world it sounds like a pie in the sky dream.  Every wants it, but in the end its pursuit is in all the wrong places.  There is only one source lasting peace with each other and for eternity.  Consider today’s message on living in peace with one another.

Do Not Lie to One Another

08 14 Colossians 3.9-10 It’s easy to do, lie that is.  It comes naturally, sometimes without hesitation or forethought.  At other times we don’t even realize we are or maybe we just don’t consider what actually constitutes a lie.  Yet we are told in Scripture that as a Christian we are to put off lying.  We are instead to speak the truth, but to speak it with love.  Is this an area needing to be changed?  Hmmm……

Comfort One Another

You don’t have to look very far to see that there are hurting people all over.  Illness, death, divorce, injury, job loss, not making the team, not passing a class, an accident are just some of the reasons why comforting others is so important today.  Life circumstances deal hardships in which people need to be comforted and we as Christians are called on to do just that.  Scripture offers us some guidance on how to give it, and receive it.  Let’s be people known for comforting one another.

Submit to One Another

07 31 Ephesians 5.21 In today’s culture there seems to be a lot of misunderstanding around what it means to submit.  Quite frankly, a person is more likely to assert position over others.  Scripture not only tells us why we should submit, but to whom we are to submit and how that is made possible.  Take some time to learn how to submit to one another.

Sing to One Another

07 24 Ephesians 5.19 Do you like to sing?  I hope so.  It’s a command to sing to one another, making melody in our heart to the Lord.  When we edify, encourage, and educate others through singing, it glorifies Christ.  So, go ahead, when the Spirit gives you a song in your heart, let it out.  You might just be amazed at what it will do for your spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being.  There is a song for every occasion to encourage you.
